Hey Friends!

There’s a lot going on in my corner of the world these last few days among people of the diaspora that has to do with community, activism, fund raising for various causes, and protecting and promoting culture. With this being the International Year for People of African Descent, these events are well placed.

Here’s what’s happening today:

Challenging Aids and Malaria in Africa- Benefit

As well, tonight will also see the closing gala of the 7th International African Diaspora Heritage Trail Conference.  The ADHT is an initiative started by the Bermudian Government in 2002 to promote travel to various sites that have cultural significance to people of African descent.  The conference has drawn notable scholars, authors, tourism experts and government officials to discuss promoting, protecting, and preserving African Heritage.
