New Articles for the Fall and Nobel Peace Prize Winners!

Article by Abena A-T

Hello Lovers and Friends.

Thank you so so so much for hanging in there. We have new articles up and they are definately worth indulging in. First of all, we engage in the age old debate about natural and permed hair. It’s an old debate but has anything changes as the years have gone by and culture has evolved?  See what some people had to say and let us know your take.

We have an article on Oxfam’s grow campaign in light of the ridiculous food crisis that’s happening, primarily in the horn of Africa. We also have a really inspiring Ordinary People piece about a man named Edgie who quite his job in IT to work with street kids in Rwanda.

Before you get off to reading your long-awaited goodies, here’s something to be proud of.  Three women have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize this year: Liberian President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Leymah Gbowee also from Liberia and Tawakul Karman from Yemen.

The women are to share the 1.5 million pounds in prize money.  Now, not to be a devil’s advocate here but I”m just wondering, if there had been one winner, would she have gotten the same amount of money? And if so, isn’t it kind of unfair to make three people have to share it?  Can this be seen as an attempt to kill three birds with one stone ( We’ve got to come up with a better saying) or does is moreso speak to  the multiple positive efforts women are making around the world and the need to see more of them?

You decide.  Read the full story on BBC:  And enjoy the new pieces!
